However, as a primarily open-access journal, our policies on refunds are structured around the nature of our publication and services. 1. Article Processing Charges (APC):

No Refund for Accepted Articles: Once an article has been accepted for publication and the article processing charge (APC) has been paid, we do not offer refunds. This is due to the significant editorial, review, and publishing efforts involved in processing each manuscript.

Refund in Case of Editorial or Publishing Error: In the rare case that an error is made by the editorial team during the publication process (e.g., incorrect data, publication of the wrong version), we will offer a full refund of the APC or an option for re-publication at no additional cost to the author.

Refund for Withdrawal Before Acceptance: If an author decides to withdraw their manuscript before the acceptance decision has been made, they may request a partial refund of the APC, subject to a deduction for the administrative processing fees incurred. The amount refunded will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
2. Subscription Fees (For Print Copies or Special Services):

Non-refundable Subscription Fees: Medical Insights offers free access to its content online. However, if there is a request for print copies of articles or special services (such as bulk orders for institutional use), the associated fees will be processed accordingly. Due to the nature of print-on-demand services, these fees are non-refundable after the print order has been confirmed.

Refunds for Unshipped Orders: If you have ordered print copies or other services that have not been shipped or processed yet, you may request a refund. A full refund will be issued if the order is canceled prior to shipment.
3. Conditions for Refund:
Refund requests will be considered only under the following circumstances:

The article has not yet been published, and the request is made before the final acceptance.

The author can prove an error or problem directly caused by Medical Insights (e.g., significant editorial or publishing mistakes).

For subscription services, the refund request is made prior to the service being fulfilled (e.g., print copies have not been printed or shipped).
4. How to Request a Refund:

Once an article is officially published and available in the Medical Insights archive, it is considered to be part of the public domain, and we do not offer refunds on articles after publication.
